Panerai Luminor GMT Automatic Acciaio 44mm PAM00088 (Out of Production)
THE LUMINOR GMT - 44 MM WAS INSPIRED BY THE WORLD OF THE SEA. The greenwich meridian was essential to sailors: they used greenwich mean time in their calculations to determine longitude, and therefore to establish where their ship was located. The very modern GMT function on Officine Panerai's Luminor lets the wearer simultaneously read the local time and that of another country, displayed on the dial with a separate hand. Officine Panerai's Luminor GMT - 44 mm bears in it the tradition, reliability and exclusiveness that are typical of the brand.
The large horns and especially, the characteristic drawbridge are the unmistakable elements of Officine Panerai's Luminor GMT. When the bridge is raised, the crown can be pulled out to adjust the three main hands or to wind the watch; the closed bridge guarantees a tight seal for the crown when it is pressed firmly against the middle. Waterproof to up to 300 metres, the case is completed with the bezel and the screwed-on back plate. The dial also boasts the classic Officine Panerai style, with large reference markers and luminescent Arabic numbers, but is also enriched with an external ring with 24 hours. The third central hand rotates around this 24-hour ring, and, when adjusted using the crown, indicates the second time zone.
The date window is symmetrically located, and is easy to read thanks by the magnifying lens inserted in the sapphire crystal which is anti-reflective and very thick (3.5 mm) to resist pressure during diving. The automatic movement of the Luminor GMT - 44 mm is equipped with a Panerai OP VIII calibre, making this watch even more exclusive and unique, not only from a technical viewpoint, but also aesthetically, successfully keeping the small seconds dial at 9 o'clock as on the original. 42-hour power reserve and C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate.
